Accessibility Ontario Disabilities Act - AODA Training

Language  : English
Duration : 30 Minutes

1 in 7 Ontarians have a disability, visible or non-visible and that number is expected to rise by 2036. Everyone benefits from Accessibility; it is good business sense and allows people of all abilities to participate fully in everyday life.

The Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation is now in effect and applies to both the public and private sectors across Ontario who provide goods, service or facilities.  The Regulation establishes accessibility standards, introduces requirements for the standards, and also establishes a compliance framework. This orientation is designed to provide an understanding of the requirements of the Regulation as they relate to specific duties, and of the Ontario Human Rights Code as it pertains to people with disabilities.

After completing this orientation participants should have an understanding of:

  • The definition of "disability" under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
  • The Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation and its general requirements
  • Requirements of the four standards referred to within the Regulation
  • Requirements under the Code
  • Differences between the Regulation and the Code.
